Questions

Questions about Window Tint Maker

What this free tool does, what it makes and how the files go into FiveM.

GTA only has fixed tint levels, set by script with SetVehicleWindowTint — from none through light and dark smoke to limo and green. A coloured or gradient film has to be part of the model: a copy of the glass just inside it with a film texture. Window Tint Maker designs that film and exports the texture, a .ytd or a .yft part.

Yes. Pick the windows on your car, design a two or three colour gradient film with transparency or start from a working tint film, and see it through the glass. The colour-shift (angle) option is preview only. The download includes the material settings and a script that sets the closest built-in tint level.

Not yet, and the README says so. The .yft is the film on the windows you picked as one double-sided part in the car's model space, so it only fits that car. Use it like other separate car parts, such as a mod-kit part, and test on a dev server, or build the film yourself from the texture and material notes.
