Questions about Plate Forge
What this free tool does, what it makes and how the files go into FiveM.
Pick one of 27 plate bases, set the colours, text and font, and preview the plate on a car. The FiveM plate resource export replaces a stock plate style on every car with your design: a PNG, a Lua script and an fxmanifest. Copy the folder into resources, add ensure with its name to server.cfg and test it on a dev server first.
On a flat plate the letters are printed; gel plates have a domed resin coat; 3D letters are raised; and 4D letters are solid cut-out letters standing off the plate. Plate Forge previews all of them, but the FiveM plate resource only replaces the flat face texture, because raised letters need real geometry on the model.
Yes. Export the plate as a .yft vehicle mod part with its textures inside, or as a .yft plus a .ytd, with a carcols snippet and install steps. Raised 3D and 4D letters keep their own material and texture. Each file is read back and opened in the site's own model viewer, but it is not tested in game on every car, so try it on a dev server first.
Everything runs in your browser. Files you open stay on your computer; exports are downloads. Workspace, Conflict Check and GTA Library need direct disk access and aren't available on the web.
