Questions about Asset Viewer
What this free tool does, what it makes and how the files go into FiveM.
Drop the .yft with its .ytd here and the model opens in your browser with textures, bones, tuning parts and materials — no GTA install or OpenIV needed. The viewer also opens .ydd clothing, .ydr props and weapons, .ytd texture dictionaries and .obj files. Nothing is uploaded; the files are read on your PC.
A .yft is a fragment model, used for vehicles and other breakable objects; a .ydr is a single drawable such as a prop or a weapon; a .ydd is a drawable dictionary, which is how ped clothing ships; and a .ytd is a texture dictionary holding DDS textures. A car usually comes as model.yft, model_hi.yft and model.ytd.
Yes. The viewer saves captures from seven preset angles as PNG files on the GXD stage, handy for a release post or a showcase. For transparent shop and garage pictures of many cars at once, the Vehicle Photo Studio renders every spawn code to a ZIP instead.
Everything runs in your browser. Files you open stay on your computer; exports are downloads. Workspace, Conflict Check and GTA Library need direct disk access and aren't available on the web.
