Questions about Resource Forge

What this free tool does, what it makes and how the files go into FiveM.

Enter the old and new spawn name and Resource Forge previews every change first: the modelName, txdName, child and kit name values in the metas, matching names in the manifest, and the model files themselves, such as car.yft, car_hi.yft and car.ytd. Binary files are only renamed, never rewritten. Weapons and other resources can be renamed the same way.

Every FiveM resource needs an fxmanifest.lua at its root. It sets fx_version and game, lists the files players download in files { }, mounts metas with data_file lines and names the scripts to run. Resource Forge's packer builds a clean copy of a resource with these lines written for you, so a missing line doesn't stop it loading.

Yes. The weapon tab builds weapon metas from a form, starting from types such as pistol, SMG, rifle, shotgun, sniper, melee and throwable, with a manifest that mounts weapons.meta, weaponcomponents.meta and weaponarchetypes.meta. The clothing tab builds the metas for an add-on clothing pack.

Everything runs in your browser. Files you open stay on your computer; exports are downloads. Workspace, Conflict Check and GTA Library need direct disk access and aren't available on the web.
