Questions

Questions about Livery Workshop

What this free tool does, what it makes and how the files go into FiveM.

A FiveM livery is a texture in the car's .ytd, named the way the model expects — usually the model name plus _sign_1, _sign_2 and so on. Paint it here on the 3D car and export correctly named DDS files, or open the car's .ytd and download it with the liveries already added. Put it in the stream folder and restart the resource.

The car's body needs a livery paint material with a livery UV map; without one, no texture name makes a livery appear, and the export README warns you when the loaded model has none. Also check the texture names match exactly, the .ytd is in the stream folder, and that scripts count from 0: SetVehicleLivery(vehicle, 0) shows _sign_1.

No. You can paint on one of the GXD shells, or open your own .yft with its .ytd to paint on that exact car. The editor has layers, brush and eraser, lines, polygons, text and images, and exports PNG and DDS (DXT5, DXT1 or uncompressed), one livery at a time or all of them together.

No. The files you open are read on your PC and your work autosaves in this browser, so you can leave and come back. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share a livery to the public gallery, where it waits for approval by GXD before anyone else can see it.
